Summer Strength and Conditioning - June and July

Summer Conditioning 2018

PPFC Summer Strength and Conditioning Program

The goal of Phoenix Premier FC is to help each of our players develop into complete players, including technical, tactical, mental, and physical development.  To aid in the physical and mental development of our players we will be incorporating a strength and conditioning program during the months of June and July this summer. A player's ability to remain healthy while consistently increasing their physical performance is essential to their growth and long term development in their soccer careers.

The Phoenix Premier FC summer strength & conditioning program will encompass movement training (linear speed and multi-directional speed), muscular strength, muscular endurance, power and regeneration.  The program will heavily emphasize movements that are specific to soccer and strengthening the areas necessary for soccer players to have the best performance possible while minimizing their risk of injury, keeping them healthy and on the field.

The summer program will be segmented into two age groups.  The first group will be 05 and younger (09, 08, 07, 06, and 05) and the second group will be 04 and older (04, 03, 02, 01, 00, 99).  Younger age groups will receive primarily movement based training, which will entail working on coordination, technique, and will have a fun atmosphere for the kids to better learn how to use their body.  Older age groups will be much more intensive, focusing on all aspects of performance as it pertains to soccer.  Our goal is to best prepare our older age groups for college athletics.

The older age group program will include a pre and post assessment that will track each player's progress within their given program to ensure that they continue to improve toward their maximum athletic potential.  These assessments will include vertical jump, broad jump, 40 yard dash, and 5-10-5 test.  The results of these tests are important data points to provide to college coaches as they are true measurements of athleticism that are used at the college level.  Additionally, one session in each program will be devoted to nutritional education from a certified nutritionist to ensure that all of our players are taking care of their bodies outside of training.

This program will be led by Kyle Porter and his staff at

Coach Kyle is our Director of Strength and Conditioning and specializes in performance coaching for soccer players.  If you have any questions regarding the content of the program please contact Kyle Porter 575.649.2657 or email him here.
